Lego library competition

Competition: Build your own LEGO library

15 August 2019

This year in Libraries Week, CILIP is running a competition in libraries across the UK inviting young people to get creative and build their ‘Library of the Future’ out of LEGO.

The most innovative and inspired entry will win:

  •    Tickets to LEGOLAND Windsor
  •    Plus £500 for your local library

The competition will be open between 23rd September and 7th October, the deadline coinciding with Libraries Week which is 7th-12th October.

How to enter

1.       Imagine and build your LEGO Library of the Future

2.       Take a photo of your creation

3.       Share it on Twitter, tag @LibrariesWeek with the hashtag #LEGOLibrary and tell us what is innovative or unique about your library of the future

How it works

Participants should use LEGO to form the structure of their library build but are free to get creative and use other materials to bring your library to life.

We want to know what is special, unique or innovative about your library of the future. Perhaps it has Virtual Reality or gaming rooms, print-on-demand machines or even slides to take you between floors.

Entries should be posted on Twitter between Monday 23rd September and Monday 7th October.

The Winner

The winning LEGO Library will be selected by library champion, and TV personality, Bobby Seagull, and announced during Libraries Week.
