World Book Night 2018

World Book Night 2018

25 April 2018

World Book Night is a national celebration of reading and books which takes place on April 23rd every year. Run by The Reading Agency, books are given out across the UK with a focus on reaching those who don’t regularly read, and are gifted through organisations including prisons, libraries, colleges, hospitals, care homes and homeless shelters, as well as by passionate individuals who give out their own books within their communities.

To get involved you have to apply to The Reading Agency saying why you would like to take part and where you are going to distribute the books for example your gym class, quiz team or place of work and if you are successful in your application they will send you a batch of books of the same title so that you can all read the same book together and share it.

Each year The Reading Agency have several book titles available for the event which have been donated by publishers. This year there are twenty three titles on offer, some of which we have available in the library at Calibre. So if you want to join in why not try one of these:
