We are delighted to receive a cheque for £2,000 from the Bristol-based branch of the healthcare provider, Simplyhealth. This followed a decision by their Bristol Community Fund to continue supporting the cost of providing our service in the surrounding area.

Last year we received a cheque for £2,678 after staff voted us their No.1 charity. Each month they hold a casual wear day in the office where people are asked to put their £1 dress-down money towards one of three selected charities. £5,000 is then split between the charities dependant on the amount of support given.

Liz Clarke, Calibre’s Head of Fundraising and Marketing says: “It is a real vote of confidence in the work we do that Simplyhealth have again decided to award us this money. We know from the hundreds of letters we receive how grateful our members are for their audio books. This will enable us to continue to bring reading pleasure to people who are unable to read a normal print book in the Bristol area. "
