Sadly Irish author Maeve Binchy has died after a short linness. Maeve was an adept story teller and prolific writer, and with her books translated into 37 languages she has sold over 40 million books worldwide. In a World Book Day Poll conducted in 2000 she was ranked as the third favourite author behind Jane Austen and Charles Dickens.

Her books have always been popular with Calibre members and we have a wide selection in the library including her two most popular titles CIRCLE OF FRIENDS (3175) and TARA ROAD (5243). Her last book MINDING FRANKIE will be in the library shortly.
