Representatives from Nordson (UK) Limited, based in Aylesbury, toured our premises and were impressed with our work bringing the pleasure of reading to our members.  
 

Following the visit, we were delighted to hear that the company’s Community Affairs Committee, had decided to award our charity £3,000.

Without Calibre some of the most disadvantaged people would miss out on the pleasure and educational benefit of books. When we visited their site in Aylesbury, it was a pleasure to see the work that was being carried out, especially the positive and hard working team of volunteers who seem paramount to making the service a success.

With an office situated in Aylesbury, Nordson has a belief that business, as a corporate citizen, has a social responsibility to share its success with the communities where it operates and has employees. Nordson have found it a pleasure in being able to make this donation to Calibre and really hope that it goes towards helping the people within the local community of Buckinghamshire who use the Calibre services.”

Michael Lewington, Director of Calibre Audio Library says: “This is great news. While we are a national charity there are a significant number of our members in the Buckinghamshire who will benefit from this award.

This funding will enable us to record more books and convert many titles to a digital format.”
